Lover of plants and photographing laidback people in love: Craig Williams

You may know Craig Williams as one fifth of Tribe and Us (or one half of those old enough to work instagram…or one of hundreds if you include each plant too!) but did you know Craig is also an incredible wedding photographer? Well, now you do - you’re welcome! We chatted to him about his work as a wedding photographer, which you can read below…

Tell us about your business – what do you do?

Hi, I'm Craig, I'm a wedding photographer. I very much enjoy telling peoples stories through pictures and the unfolding of scenes on the day. My photography is about, the people that entrust me to photograph their wedding and understanding what I do. I want people to be comfortable and happy and not apprehensive about having their picture taken.

Why & how did you start?

I started through a need to create and because of the way I saw things. It came very natural and to me from the beginning.

Who or what inspires you?

Everyday life is the main inspiration to me again the way I see normal things we always live with and around. This helps with my other passions of interiors and photographs of peoples movement in fashion editorials.

Talk us through a day at the office/studio/wherever you work from.

I wake up very early normally at 5 am, I have 3 kiddos....... by 7 am I'm in my studio replying to emails. Then either editing or working of a project for @tribeandus. There will be a yoga class throw in there most days and a head-clearing walk by the river in Wivenhoe.

What’s your fave part about what you do?

Travel, freedom and getting to meet amazing people and tell their story.

What are you excited about for your business?

I'm excited about my business being ever-evolving. It's such a great outlet and I never want that to change but as I get older I see more and it helps my photography grow.

Who are your fave 3 wedding suppliers?

Jenna Hewitt Wedding planner

Dreamwave events

Hushabye Films

What’s your top advice for couples getting married?

Always be yourself and enjoy it. It should be fun not like a job.

Come and see Craig at our London fair - you’ll know which one is him because there’ll probably be a plant or two nearby! Grab your tickets here.
