Their dreamy, delicate, damn fine designs are not only inspired by a bride who is ‘fiercely individual’ but are also all totally great to dance in and made completely ethically. With sequinned shimmies and starry sleeves the dresses are all modern takes on the beauty of past times. We chatted to owner Hayley (who you may remember from Most Curious 18 babe-ing around in a Rolling in Roses dress and looking like an absolute MODEL) about their collection and inspirations.
A little about your business and you
Rolling In Roses is an independent ethical bridalwear label based in York. Our dresses are for the fiercely individual bride who is looking for something with a unique twist, which is impeccably made and feels like pure comfort and luxury to wear. We make all our dresses in our atelier in York and strive to run the business in an ethical and eco-friendly way, using organic silk and bamboo and recycling all our fabric offcuts.
The coolest/best moment of your career so far
Every time we release a new collection or do a stunning photoshoot is the best moment!
Who or what inspires you
Music, vintage fashion, beautiful fabrics, my friends, dancing at festivals, dancing at parties, dancing at weddings. All our dresses are wonderful to dance in!
What do you love most about your job?
All of it! Making people feel amazing on their big day is such a buzz.
What's the most curious thing about your business?
The name Rolling In Roses is taken from a Patti Smith poem; the goddess of punk, we love her.
What's your top advice for couples getting married?
Do it your own way! Don't be swayed by what other people want or expect.
